Pistoia Mountains Museum System
The SiMoP - Museum System of the Pistoia Mountains - was born in 2019 (Convention signed on June 1, 2020) with the desire to create a tool, for the preservation, enhancement and promotion of the cultural and environmental heritage of the Pistoia Mountains, structuring already existing and consolidated realities in the area.
In a context that is homogeneous in terms of cultural-historical, social, economic and environmental characteristics, SiMoP is a means of improving cooperation, fostering the coordination of cultural, educational and dissemination activities, increasing the quality level of offerings and enhancing the enjoyment of museums and their heritage, and more generally of all the resources in the target area.
The System currently involves four entities:
- thePistoia Mountain Ecomuseum, which is participating with thematic itineraries from its original arrangement;
- l' Forest Botanical Garden , Abetone;
- the Naturalistic Archaeological Museum of the Pistoian Apennines. , Gavinana;
- the Chestnut and Coal Road. , Orsigna.
SiMoP is conducting a survey to find out the public's impressions about the experience of visiting the various hubs that comprise it.
